The Death Benefit staff will assist you in the filing of a claim for benefits. The staff will also notify the member's Division, Paymaster, Credit Union, Employee's Association, and the Health Plan Office.

Generally, benefits are paid within approximately six weeks after the required documents are received.

Mortician
If the deceased is insured with the Club

• You may pay the funeral expenses from your benefit by signing a Funeral Home Assignment
• To do so, choose the services you want and give the mortician the Club’s telephone number
• We strongly recommend you not to inform anybody the benefit amount you are entitled to
• The mortician will obtain copies of the Death Certificate as part of the standard service
• The mortician can also be of help with the Veterans and Social Security Administrations
